Trail Talk 2017

Thursday marked the official end to the 2017 YCP season. Thanks to YCP donors, crew members, and leaders who made the 2017 program a huge success!

The YCP crew successfully completed their ninth week on-the-job. Although a few team members have already left for their freshman year of college, the group is still going strong.

YCP’s eighth week on the job was spent in the backcountry at the Lower Berry Cabin improving trails damaged by the Berry Creek Fire. Get a complete update in this week’s edition of Trail Talk!

YCP’s seventh week on the job included learning about whitebark pine tress, renewing historical treasures, and building new trail at the LSR. Learn more in our latest edition of Trail Talk!

The 2017 YCP season is cruising along. The crew spent the week putting the finishing touches on a portion of the Jenny Lake trail, working with the Jenny Lake Climbing Rangers, and ended their week with a long trek to Holly Lake.

Another successful week of YCP included log peeling, assisting with the Jenny Lake Renewal Project, and a Wilderness First Aid course.

Warm, warmer, and even hot weather greeted YCP during their third week of the season.

Stephen Adamson was an attorney who was passionate about wild places, outdoor adventure, and Grand Teton National Park. He inspired many who knew him to dream big and explore. Through a sponsorship fund established in his honor, we celebrate his life by giving young people a chance to do meaningful work in Grand Teton and to ultimately find their place in the natural world.

Week two of YCP started with a drain cleaning extravaganza in Granite Canyon. The crew made it all the way to the Granite Patrol Cabin for a round trip of almost 13 miles, and the team is quickly becoming experts in trail maintenance.
