Trail Talk: A look into Grand Teton’s Youth Conservation Program – Week Six

The YCP season is more than halfway over and time is flying by. The team completed a two-day Wilderness First Aid course through the National Outdoor Leadership School and became savvy to backcountry first aid essentials.

On Wednesday the crew broke ground on an ADA trail at the Lucas-Fabian Homestead alongside donors and supporters of YCP. The remainder of the week was spent on this trail, digging through cobbles, getting dusty, and hauling many wheelbarrow loads. Hands blistered and bodies ached, but highlights of the week included spotting a bear, swimming in Cottonwood Creek, and enjoying delicious Italian Ice provided by their supervisors.
