Snake River Gateways
Restoring Access & Protecting Habitat
A partnership project between Grand Teton National Park and the Foundation launched in 2020 and completed in 2025, the Snake River Gateways reimagined river access at three iconic sites in Grand Teton National Park. At Moose Landing, Pacific Creek, and Jackson Lake Dam, the project prioritized resource protection and sustainable access to ensure the Snake River continues to inspire visitors.
Whether you’re casting a line, setting out on the water, or soaking up the view, you can do so knowing these enhancements support a healthier Snake River and a more resilient riparian habitat for years to come. We are deeply grateful to the supporters and partners whose generosity made this transformation possible.

Moose Landing
Work to enhance Moose Landing, the third and final site of the Snake River Gateways project, was completed in fall 2025. Improvements included the installation of new visitor amenities, such as shade structures and educational signage, as well as stabilization of previously eroded riverbanks and boat launch areas.
Pacific Creek
Kicking off the Snake River Gateways project in 2022, an interpretive area featuring stone walls, benches, and informational signage was implemented at Pacific Creek. The boat launch was also replaced, providing lasting protection for the sensitive landscape while ensuring safe and sustainable visitor access for years to come.

Jackson Lake Dam
Improvements completed in 2023 at Jackson Lake Dam stand as a strong example of what thoughtful accessibility enhancements can achieve in Grand Teton. In addition to upgrades to the boat launch and the installation of essential signage and interpretive elements, the site now features wheelchair-accessible platforms along the riverbank, ensuring that all visitors can experience and enjoy the Snake River.
