On Friday, September 8th, the Diehl Gallery in downtown Jackson will host an artist reception for the opening of Natural Alchemy by Susan Goldsmith.
Goldsmith is a mixed media artist whose inspiration comes from the beauty of nature. She builds up the surface of her pieces by adding layers of oil paint, oil pastel, and metallic powders using her hands instead of brushes. The metallic powders in her work give each piece an unpredictable radiance that varies depending on the viewer’s perspective. As you walk by any of her pieces, you will see the colors change similar to how colors change in the natural world based on time of day, sunlight, and season.
This celebration coincides with Palates and Palettes—the kick off to the annual Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival. A portion of the proceeds from this exhibition will benefit Grand Teton National Park Foundation. Join us from 5 – 8 pm on September 8th to celebrate this unique collection, which will be on display at the Diehl Gallery until October 29th. We hope to see you there!
