In partnership with Grand Teton National Park and AT&T, the Foundation is happy to announce the release of the Jenny Lake Explorer App, a new digital application that will help visitors explore the Jenny Lake area. The app is available now in app stores and will guide visitors through multiple interactive activities on a smartphone or tablet.
Grand Teton park officials worked with Harpers Ferry Center, University of Maryland KidsTeam, and Teton County Recreation District to host a two-day discovery workshop to develop ideas for the app onsite at Jenny Lake before moving into production mode. The result is a fun and engaging digital experience that leads users around the area while encountering virtual reality wildlife, building mountain ranges, and even summiting the Grand Teton—with a 360-degree view at the top. Once all activities are completed, the visitor earns a Junior Ranger badge digitally and can then pick up the hardcopy at the Jenny Lake Visitor Center.
The new digital app is an example of how private-public partnerships are beneficial to our national parks. We would like to say a special thank you to our friends at AT&T whose generous gift and collaboration made the Jenny Lake Explorer App possible!
