As winter approaches, Grand Teton National Park Foundation is thrilled to once again support grooming on Teton Park Road—now in its thirteenth year. What began as a simple effort to make the park more accessible during the colder months has grown into one of the most beloved winter experiences in the region.
This season, the fourteen-mile groomed track will again stretch from Taggart Lake Trailhead to Signal Mountain Lodge. Groomed three times a week through mid-March, the route offers a rare opportunity to experience the Tetons in their quietest, most peaceful state. Along the way, visitors can take in sweeping mountain views, glide past frozen lakes, and explore cultural history at the Lucas Fabian cabins, all against the backdrop of winter’s stillness.
Traveling these beautifully maintained trails beneath towering peaks has become a treasured tradition for many—locals who return year after year, and visitors discovering the magic of a Teton winter for the first time. Whether you’re cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or simply taking a peaceful walk in crisp mountain air, the experience is unforgettable. It’s a way to connect deeply with the landscape, slow down, and see the park from a completely different perspective.
Supporting winter grooming helps ensure that this one-of-a-kind opportunity remains accessible to everyone who seeks it. If you’re able, we invite you to support this special program by visiting our Winter Grooming page. Your generosity helps maintain these groomed miles and keeps this extraordinary winter experience thriving for the entire community. Thank you!
