The Youth Engagement Initiative is built around four important pillars that connect the next generation to the outdoors through a variety of experiences. These programs systematically introduce Grand Teton to a younger, more diverse audience and offer escalating educational and employment opportunities that will keep participants actively involved in wilderness until they make career decisions.

The Youth Conservation Program is more than a summer job; it's an innovative educational opportunity and a chance to accomplish something meaningful for one of America's most popular landscapes.

Pura Vida is successfully creating experiences that introduce Latino students and their families to Grand Teton and providing tools and guidance to help them enjoy and learn from their natural environment.

Young Stewards & Leaders is a new multicultural program that is open to ten high school students who meet monthly for one year. Qualified Young Stewards & Leaders graduates will have an opportunity to transition into NPS Academy’s internships.

NPS Academy was conceived in Grand Teton with the purpose of introducing 18 to 25-year-old college students to a range of career paths within the NPS through seminars, workshops, field trips, and recreational activities.
