Trail Talk: A look into Grand Teton’s Youth Conservation Program – Week 10

On August 18, the crew celebrated the end of a glorious season. On Monday, they learned the ins and out of the whitebark pine with ecologist Nancy Bokino and assisted her in data collection.

Tuesday, they dug away and completed a reroute by the beginning of Bradley Taggart Lake Trailhead. This essential reroute will be used by the public while the new pump house is being installed.

The crew worked the rest of the week on drainage and clearing vegetation by Phelps Lake and Paintbrush Canyon. Watch this incredible time-lapse video to see them clearing thimbleberry off the trail.

They celebrated their success with an end of season barbecue highlighted by delicious local beef provided by Chase at Lockhart Ranch.
